Belly Dance 101 Great for fitness + low pressure dance training for adults of all ages. No previous experience required!
Warm Up: For dance flexibility and strength training, the warm up is an integral part of increasing your capacity for movement. Our warm up routine promotes strength, balance, and flexibility through the entire body (with some extra attention to the glutes and abs!)
Drills & Technique: With isolation drills & technique you will be introduced to basic foot, hip, shoulder, chest and/or arm isolations and practice layering them. This is key to a strong foundation of movement for experienced and non-experienced dancers alike.
Combo & Release: In conclusion, we will create a short combination, often using the specific drills and technique you learned, for you to explore and enjoy dance as it presents in your body. A cool down for the hips, spine, and shoulders is offered at the end of class for restoration and release.
Belly Dance Workshops For Special Events (3-12 people) Bring your next gathering to Center Seven! Adorn yourself, move dynamically and rhythmically, learn movement fundamentals and an interactive routine. Women's gatherings, bachelorette and birthday celebrations welcome!
Workshop: $75 / 1 hour
Workshop & Social: $100 / 1.5 hours Includes time allotted for socializing and dancing + beverages & snacks (provided by party host)

About Amy Lea I began Belly Dancing in 1998 as a raqs sharqi performer and artistic director for Red Tent Belly Dance Troupe. My recent studies are a continuance of classical styles in conjunction with tribal fusion modalities with recognition in 8 Elements Initiation and Dance Craft Key of Diamonds. As a teacher I intends to provide a foundation to build capacity for any stylistic approach, increase movement skill, enhance mind-body connection, tap in to the spirit of expression, and build dance community.
